Winter Style: Sweater Dress & OTK Boots

Sweater: Free People | Tights: Wolford | Boots: Zara (Similar) | Coat: Zara (Similar) | Headband: Zara
London’s still my favorite city, but there really is no place like home for the Holidays. I just got back to Dallas Thursday and hit the ground running as soon as I landed! I had a holiday shoot with my favorite Dallas photographer (@beckleyco). Went with my family on a Christmas carriage ride thought Highland park to look at all the Christmas lights (favorite holiday tradition). Fought jet lag Friday Night to celebrate one of my best friend’s birthdays at Alice. And yesterday, 41 other family members and I got together at my Aunt’s house for our annual family Christmas lunch and gift exchange! Never a dull moment, but I wouldn’t have it any other way… especially now that I get to relax and enjoy some down time out at our ranch.
Usually, during the holidays, I stress a little bit about what to wear — especially when I have to pack and plan out all of my outfits ahead of time. Thankfully, this sweater dress was a no brainer. I’ve been wearing it all the time and it’s a great wintery outfit to wear after the Holidays too. This exact dress is actually a Free People Sweater that I just sewed together. I’m 5’5" — not particularly tall, not particularly short, but after searching high and low and not finding any sweater dresses that fit just right, I altered this sweater that I bought during Black Friday, and am actually very happy with how it came out. (If you get this one, basically just stitch the open seam together or take it to a tailor to do so.)
Besides our recent family Christmas, I’ve been living in this look all around London. Work days, date nights, weekends, and dinners out. It’s really low maintenance. Just a sweater, tights, and OTK boots, but really comfy and a nice alternative to jeans and a sweater, especially during holiday meals! If temps get really cold, just add a cosy faux fur coat. I LOVE this one that I got from Zara. Ask anyone who knows me, they can vouch I wear mine allll the time. Last but not least, for those looking for winter trends — this year the ticket item is, the velvet headband. I got mine from Zara for $15.99, but I linked a few others if you you want some more options, below.
I’m off to take a little afternoon nap, watch the rest of the Cowboy’s game, and finish wrapping Christmas presents! Hope you all have a great Christmas Eve, eve wherever you are! Cannot believe we only have two days until Christmas! More looks coming to the blog soon, stay tuned…
