When I first moved back to the DC area, I had no idea that only an hour outside of the city was a booming winery industry. After I learned that there were over 50 wineries in Loudoun County, Virginia alone, I knew I had to make an attempt to visit all of them. Noble quest, huh?
I make a trip out a couple of times a year with my girlfriends and drink some vino, enjoy the scenery and learn how these wineries produce their wines. Who needs Napa Valley when you have D.C. Wine Country! This time around, we visited Greenhill Vineyards and Stone Tower Winery. Fun fact: Greenhill is the first winery I ever visited, so it was a blast visiting the place that started my winery obsession!
It’s pretty silly to drive out to the wineries; I highly recommend renting out a car, van or limo from Reston Limo to drive you around wine country in style! You can plan your own private tour, or you can hop on a public tour that departs from Arlington and Reston.
