I think I might have a thing for velvet this holiday season, huh? Last week I showed you what to wear to a fancy holiday party, and now I’m back to share what to wear to your work holiday party — that might be during the day.
I mostly worked for smaller companies back when I was working full-time, so I always had low-key potluck office parties that were held during the day. I still wanted to look festive, but the look needed to be professional and look appropriate for a full day of work and meetings since our parties lasted 2-3 hours, max. When I spotted this green velvet scalloped skirt from Lauren James, I knew it was the perfect, versatile piece this holiday season. It’s under $60, and can be worn to work, happy hour, date night…you name it, it’s perfect! It also comes in red and black, just in case green isn’t your thing.
I added a pair of sheer tights to make this look a little more office friendly, and some booties. You could also rock this with a pair of over the knee boots and a leather jacket if you want to give this delicate skirt a bit more edge to your work holiday party! I also just picked up these gold earrings during a Cyber Week sale, and they pair perfectly with any holiday ensemble.
