Smocked Floral Print Dress

Summer is still far from over here in Houston, which means I’m living in easy to wear dresses. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve enjoyed adding dresses into my repertoire. And this floral print smocked dress is easy to wear for a number of summer occasions now, and plenty of fall or spring events later.
Dress // Sandals (old, similar pair here and here) // Handbag (via à bientôt Houston) // Earrings // Bangle bracelets
You may have partaken in the smocked trend lately, it’s been all over magazines and stores these last few months. I happened across this dress a few weeks ago and loved the unique color. In case you hadn’t already realized, I love wearing shades of blue (see this previous post and this one). This pretty seafoam blue/green is a shade of blue I’d like to add more of in my closet, too.
Perhaps you’ve heard of an extremely popular blogger, Julia Hengel. She’s the gal behind this dress and the clothing brand Gal Meets Glam. The feminine aesthetic is perfect for so many different gals and occasions, which personally I felt has been lacking in the market a number of years. I will say, some of the dresses are hit or miss. I like to try them on in store at Nordstrom or Dillard’s.
This smocked floral print dress is the second GMG dress in my collection. Catch the first dress I added to my closet, in this prior post. I love how my two dresses wear, they fit super well and ran true to size. The length is perfect for my petite frame, too. I will say some of the GMG dresses are a bit too long for my liking. But if you’re in the market for a baby shower or birthday dress, then definitely think about this number or another GMG Collection dress!
