Hello 2019! Happy New Year, friends! Hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday season. I, for one, am so happy to usher in a new year. I needed to hit the reset button on life, work, etc. and the timing was more than perfect. Thought I’d share this fun sequined midi skirt number for my first post of the year, because well, celebrating the new year definitely calls for sequins!
Lace camisole (solid black) // Sequin skirt // Heeled sandals (on sale!) // Earrings // Necklace // Watch // Station bracelet // Bangles c/o // Clutch
There’s no doubt that this sequined midi skirt definitely kicks up the sparkle. Not only is it comfortable, but it’s budget-friendly too! And even though I don’t wear sequins all that often in my regular wardrobe, it’s definitely a festive piece that’s perfect to have on hand for years to come.
Do you do New Years resolutions? I’m personally more of a goals gal. Every year for the last three years, I’ve sat down with a notebook and written out 10-15 goals for my work and blog life. I tend to go back and check in on those goals every quarter, and it’s so gratifying to be able to check off some of the goals that I’ve met or exceeded. Sometimes they’re extremely simple, while others are more complex. I may never meet one of my goals, but at least I wrote it down and got to thinking about it, right?
For me, goals are more attainable than resolutions. With goals, I don’t feel like I’m being held by the guilt of not completing one or finishing it on time. Goals, at least for me, can be a bit more broad then specified resolutions.
Personally, I tend to set goals for myself over resolutions, too. This year, I’ve set a goal to not spend as much time connected to my phone and social media. I’ve also set a goal to make it to the gym 3+ times a week. If it doesn’t happen, I’m not going to beat myself up over it, but if I meet these goals, then I can mark those goals off as achievements.
Tell me, are you more of a New Years resolutions, goals or none of the above type of person? Tell me in the comments below!
