This past weekend, I got to take part in kicking off Equinox’s newest class, The Muse, with a studio full of my favorite people… readers like you! Today, I’m so excited to share with you a recap of the morning and the reasons why I’m in love with this new dance-inspired cardio workout. Trust me, y’all. It’s one you have to try!
When I first learned about this new class, which you can read more about here, I was immediately hooked by the dance aspect it’s centered on. I grew up dancing and have always loved any type of workout that incorporates great music and rhythm. The fact that The Muse combines dance movements along with spherical weights in a quick, 30-minute class sounded just up my alley!
When the time finally came to kick off the class, I, along with the darling group of girls who came to attend the class, walked into the studio, removed our shoes (it’s a barefoot class) and spread out across the floor. As our adorable instructor Monica cued up the first song, I immediately realized I had severely underestimated the intensity level of this workout!
A 30-minute dance workout doesn’t sound all-too challenging, right? Wrong! Let me tell you… gripping the two weighted spheres while lunging, twisting and kicking to fun, high-paced music had me breathless in no time at all. I feel so embarrassed to admit this, but I was watching that clock like a hawk by the end of class. I was praying I’d make it to the end!
As a regular spin class attendee, I absolutely loved the change-up The Muse offered from my normal workout routine. In only half of an hour, I could feel it challenging and strengthening muscles I didn’t even know I had. And let me just say… the soreness I experienced that next day solidified just how great of a workout I actually got!
I’m already itching to take The Muse again. It felt so good to dance, twist and turn all the while getting in an incredible cardio and strength workout. The class is available to Equinox members, so if you’re one be sure to try The Muse out soon! If you aren’t, you’ll find more information on memberships here.
After the class ended (and we were all able to catch our breaths), our class headed out to the fun event the Equinox team had set up just outside! There, we posed for pictures, built succulent terrariums, sampled juices, received massages and brow touchups from the Equinox Spa and shopped the new Muse apparel collection. Here are a few other photos from the day!

It was an absolute blast! I had the best time meeting, dancing with and getting to know those of you there, and hope I run into you in another Muse class soon!
Love from Texas,
Kate
