There’s a line I’ve been stalking for over a year now, friends. It’s perched right in the middle of one of my favorite shopping centers in Dallas, Highland Park Village, and creates fabulous/funky/glam pieces out of unused designer fabric.
If you’ve heard of La Vie, you know what I’m talking about!
Whenever I’ve popped back into Dallas, I usually make a point to peek into this hot pink store. It’s always a treat to look through the gorgeous fabrics, colors and textures!
These dresses are definitely a splurge, and after saving up I finally pulled the trigger on this gorgeous floral-jacquard organza kaftan. I wore it for our second anniversary dinner, and it was such a treat!

Needless to say, this dress is quite the statement… especially when you’re only 5’2! I’ve been wanting a La Vie kaftan for a while but had to find a fabric that worked on me. I finally ended up ordering this one, and couldn’t be more in love! It’s not what you want to wear to show off your figure (haha) but it is such a statement. The fabric is really unbelievable!
You’ll notice that many La Vie pieces, including this kaftan, are sheer. I’m wearing this nude slip underneath to not compete with the fabric, but a white slip would also look fresh and bright underneath. (Heads up, definitely go up a size in this slip! I initially ordered my usual size, and XS, and it fit like a tank top. The S/M is perfect on me, but still pretty short and tight… which is preferable for a slip!)
It’s always special to bring a piece into your wardrobe you’ve been waiting and saving up for for a while. This beauty makes me happy every time I see it hanging in my closet, and I’m already looking forward to wearing it again!
