SPRING COLOR OUTFIT DETAILS:
Sweater, Skirt, and Pumps: ℅ Ann Taylor | Bag: Zac Zac Posen
One of my favorite Spring color trends this year is yellow. Yellow has always been one of my absolute favorite colors to wear, and while I didn’t see it in stores often, I would immediately gravitate towards it when I did!
When I went to AmericasMart last fall, I noticed yellow in almost every single showroom that I visited — and I immediately got super excited for spring. I did a little shopping at my local Ann Taylor last week, and I spotted an abundance of yellow in the new arrivals section. When I got home, I noticed that half of the things I scooped up were this shade — whoops!
I’m not gonna lie: yellow can be a pretty intimidating shade to wear, so you might not think that this Spring color trend is right for you. Here are a few tips and tricks on how to seamlessly add yellow to your current wardrobe.
YELLOW – THIS SEASON’S HOTTEST SPRING COLOR
- Accessories are key. Yellow is a gorgeous accent color that will pair well with all of your neutrals this season. I adore these tassel earrings, and this silk scarf would be the perfect little accent (I picked this piece up, and plan on wearing it with all of my striped tees this season!)
- Go bold or go home. If you’re a little more adventurous, try out the bold, bright yellow hue this season. This ribbed sweater that I’m wearing is the perfect layering piece — it’s versatile and adds a much-needed pop of color to any ensemble. I also picked up this gorgeous printed yellow dress — I’m wearing it with a jean jacket now, and with sandals once it gets warmer!
- Wear yellow on the bottom. If you’re concerned with how yellow will work with your skin tone, I’d recommend wearing yellow on the bottom rather than opting for a yellow top/dress. This tie-waist skirt would go from desk to drinks with ease, and would look amazing with a neutral-colored top!
- Opt for a lighter, paler shade. If a golden shade of yellow intimidates you, go for a pastel shade — I find that this kind of shade works well with most skin tones! I love these wide leg pants; they could easily become a work staple this season.
