How To Style A Maxi Dress For Fall

Fall and winter go pretty hand in hand with denim and leggings. Both are great when paired with oversized sweaters and boots and well, are just freaking comfortable. But what about when you’re just not into your favorite pants? You know for those times when you want to feel a bit more dressed up? The only thing holding you back is those chilly temps outside. No worries ladies, I got you! I’m sharing my favorite tip on how to style a maxi dress for fall. It’s easier than you think, I promise

I wouldn’t really call my tip on how to style a maxi dress for the cooler months something super innovative. I mean, we wear cardigans with dresses all the time. But what I like to do is pair them with a pullover sweater. Typically one that’s a bit cropped and hits at my natural waist. You can even try it with a fitted sweater as I did here. Or I’ll even wear a belt with the dress and tuck the sweater into that to define my waist. It keeps you cozy warm and also ads a great texturable element to the entire look.
Given that the holiday season is upon us (you may have noticed I’ve gone slightly Gift Guide crazy) I wanted to bring out this bold red sweater and my iconic crimson lip for the season. Something about red just screams the holidays to me and I find myself wearing it more and more as the weather cools down.
