I promise, this is the second to last Charleston post from me. And then we’re back to your regularly scheduled, boring D.C. posts. Because when you’re at a blogger conference, you’re cranking out blog content, right?
I wore this ensemble while roaming around Charleston after SBScon wrapped up and playing tourist. What I’m about to say shouldn’t surprise anyone, but man was it hot that day! I thought I knew all about heat and humidity in D.C. but clearly I was wrong. I had a water at all times while walking around the city! I opted for my breezy ASOS floral dress, flat sandals and light accessories, including this fantastic Vera Bradley clutch and wooden watch from JORD. We strolled by Rainbow Row and I had to get a photo in front of this blue house to add to my colored house photo collection thing I have going on.
I didn’t get to explore as much as I wanted to during my 3 day trip, but here were a few highlights and recommendations from me.
Even though I had a blast in Charleston, it was definitely a bittersweet trip because of the tragic events that occurred a few weeks ago. I ended my trip with a visit to Mother Emanuel and I’ve been struggling for the past few weeks on how to describe my experience there because it was an incredibly emotional experience. One thing I do have to say about Charleston is that it’s a very strong city. I was shocked at what I saw at the church that day: it was probably the most loving atmosphere I’ve ever encountered. How such a senseless, tragic act could breed so much love restored my faith in humanity for a bit.
