Looking for stylish, modern wreaths that aren’t exactly the norm? Me too! I originally wrote this post in 2011, so wanted to update it with the best wreaths you can buy and still get in time for the holidays this Christmas 2021. Hope you enjoy!

My wreaths above are from Frontgate several years ago from a shoot I did with Traditional Home magazine. They’re no longer available but this wreath has a similar feel. Here are the links to my skirt and top and hair bow.

I’m not usually a wreath person. Something about laziness combined with that fact that they all look alike might have something to do with that. Or maybe it has something to do with my Dad, who in the spirit of American entrepreneurship one bitterly cold year, made us help him forage for pine cones until our fingers almost fell off so that he could sell his creations — God bless America and God bless Dad, the original DIY guy. So when a friend recently asked where she could find stylish holiday wreaths, three horrible words came tumbling out: I don’t know. I smelled a challenge. And got to clicking. Dear readers, I present to you modern DIY wreath ideas from my home to yours, starting with this Kelly Wearstler-designed wreath for for Children’s Action Network. Color me happy. I’m including wreaths you can buy as well for those of us too scarred by previous DIY experiences!

Kelly Wearstler also designed this chic, leather dip-dyed wreath for DIFFA. Think outside of the pine cones, my friends.
If you would rather buy than DIY, this wreath one has a very similar look.

I nearly broke my jaw when I spotted this clever and cool Polaroid wreath on decor8. It’s just one of many DIY wreath ideas by the team over at Country Living magazine. And one I could see actually doing, as you could leave it up for months.

This crafty poinsettia felt wreath is a bit more involved and I love the bright happy vibe.
Of course, this edible wreath really takes the cake. Made of herbs like sage, oregano, rosemary and bay leaves, it makes a perfect prezzie for foodies and, no doubt, smells great. You can buy an edible wreath here.
