I feel like we haven’t had as much time to chit-chat here lately, so today I’m doing a Snapshots post and sharing what we’ve been up to. If you follow along on Instagram, then you get more of the behind-the-scenes/everyday life content. The pic above is from a trip to The Amsden, an absolute gem located in Versailles, last weekend (we put our masks on before we went in). This is actually Karoline’s last week as a 2-year-old! Our girl turns 3 on Monday. We’ve been working on finishing up potty training here lately.
Can you see the look of utter relief on my face in this picture? We got our first dose of the COVID vaccine last week and it was a very emotional day for me. Chauncey and I both qualify under 1C. We were able to snag appointments (I got up at midnight one night to book them). I took this vaccine for myself, my family, and everyone else who I might come into contact with. This past year has been one of the hardest years of my life–if I never again have to live through an “unprecedented time,” it will be too soon. Here’s to step one towards the future. We go for our second dose week after next, and will continue to mask up even after that.
I’m not a meteorologist, but this is the snowiest Kentucky has been since we moved into our house 6 years ago this month! It seems like it snowed off and on for the entire month of February. Thankfully, we were able to keep power and water on. Both of the kids love playing in the snow, as do I (sidenote: Chauncey hates the snow). We have a nice little hill behind the neighbor’s house that is great for sledding. Karoline even has a little pull sled that we can buckle her into.
Kane started in-person school back this week! As many of you know, both Chauncey and I work, so Kane has been going to daycare with Karoline this entire time. You know that we’re very precautious when it comes to the virus, and I debated about whether or not to send Kane back. Our district is taking lots of precautions, though, and Kane is double-masking.
Kane has also been keeping the Tooth Fairy busy. He lost two teeth this past week. I think that puts him up to eight total. Karoline keeps wiggling her teeth and wondering when they’re going fall out.haha
As for Chauncey and I, we’ve both had movement on the job front. In January, I accepted a promotion and moved to a different department at my new job, which I love. It’s a major career score for me, and I’m thankful for the opportunity. Chauncey, on the other hand, is starting a job with a new company next week. Today is his last day at his old job, where he’s been since my 1L year of law school.
Lots of new chapters have started for us here lately, which is part of the reason behind the recent break I took. All good things, but with changes come adjustments.
Anyways, I hope y’all have the best weekend! TGIF, friends:)
