I’ve always enjoyed nostalgic vibes. Honestly, that’s probably why I have so many clothes–clothes give me all the feels. This outfit totally harkens back to my elementary school days in the late 90’s, but let’s be honest. At that time, I was totally not able to pull this off like I do now.haha Growing up, I really struggled to find my style. I never felt like I fit in (probably because I didn’t). Now, I wear pieces similar to what I wore back then, but I know how to style them now.
plaid boyfriend flannel shirt // bodysuit (long sleeve version) // straight leg jeans // puffy quilted bag // furry mule slides–size up // cheetah print faux calf hair belt
Bodysuits have been back for a while. I feel sexy in a bodysuit, even styled like this. They hug your curves and stay tucked in for clean lines. While it can be tempting to try to go up a few sizes in body suits, I don’t recommend. If you do, it won’t fit your body the way it’s supposed to, and you can get weird gaps in the top. Also, ditch your underwear.
Here, I layered a plaid flannel shirt in a boyfriend fit over the bodysuit. Flannels never go out of style. When you toss one on and leave it unbuttoned, though, is when you get that 90’s vibe. The one I’m wearing has such pretty colors. The small pink lines are what sold me on it.
If you don’t have a pair of straight leg jeans in your closet, grab a pair to add in a darker wash. Straight leg jeans are all the rage this fall. I don’t hate the trend as bad as I thought I would. Actually, I like it! And to note, I actually like higher ankle boots BETTER with straight leg jeans.
What’s your favorite 90’s trend that’s made a comeback?
