May’s Worth the Hype: Shiseido Sunscreen Stick & More

Shiseido Sunscreen Stick Review

May’s Worth the Hype product are three products from Shiseido. The Shiseido Sunscreen Stick, Shiseido Synchro Skin Soft Blurring Primer and Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Tint SPF 20 Stick. I’ve used Shisedo skincare in the past and have always had a good experience, so I thought why not venture into other products of theirs.

Shiseido Sunscreen Stick Review

I’m very loyal to my sunscreens, having used the same 2 over the past 7+ years. However, I’ve been looking for another one to try out that may be easier to re-apply and that would work over makeup as well. The Shiseido Sunscreen Stick has been hyped and now I see why. It’s really good. It doesn’t feel oily at all, just made my skin look hydrated. Each time I’ve used this before makeup application, I don’t apply my moisturizer (unless it’s been hours between moisturizer and makeup application). So this may be a helpful trick in making sure your skin doesn’t look too dewy-but then again I know some people love an extra dewy look, so I think it’ll be about finding your perfect routine with this stick and makeup.

Applying the Shiseido Sunscreen Stick over makeup is easy too. While I’ve seen some reviews saying they were left with no makeup on their stick after using it on top of their makeup, I have noticed a little does come off on the stick. BUT, it’s truly the tiniest bit and most importantly, I haven’t noticed any visible stripping of my makeup on my skin. TIP: while not necessary, I’ve loved most when I use a blotting sheet or charcoal stone before reapplying the sunscreen.

Shiseido Synchro Skin Soft Blurring Primer Review

I purchased this primer, because I was looking for a hydrating primer that would still blur and mattify my skin. The blurring primers I already had owned and used are great, but they don’t help keep my skin hydrated and while they do a great job, they can feel a little heavy. And on days where I’m wearing very light, barely-there makeup, I wanted a primer that would pair better. This Shiseido Synchro Skin Soft Blurring Primer is wonderfully lightweight, feels like I simply moisturized my skin , but I can immediately notice the difference in the appearance of my skin texture-this helps smooth out everything.

My makeup applies smoothly on top of the Shiseido Synchro Skin Soft Blurring Primer and stays put all day. TIP: I wait a few minutes after using the primer before applying my makeup, to let it really sink in.

Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Tint SPF 20 Review

Another product from the Synchro line, and probably my favorite, the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Tint SPF 20. If you’re looking for medium to full coverage, this is not the product for you. But if you’re looking for light this product is amazing. It just feels so good on skin and I think is a perfect everyday SPF that offers the prettiest glow and hydration without any oily feeling. This will definitely be coming with me to all of my beach vacations this summer!
