As someone who cooks almost every day, I’m always looking for grocery brands I can trust not only for quality, but for great prices too. There are quite a few grocery items I use every day that because I purchase Walmart’s brand, I save anywhere from $1 to $8+ on. That’s huge, because I’m using these items daily and shopping very frequently. My grocery budget stretches the furthest when I’m shopping my favorite Walmart brands like Great Value, Marketside, Sam’s Choice and Freshness Guaranteed.

The proof is in the pudding with the recipe I’m sharing with you today. This hearty and delicious meal including one main dish and two side dishes comes in at under $30. (Not including basic pantry items we always have on hand like salt, pepper, olive oil etc.) That’s roughly $5 per person for a tasty home-cooked meal!

Directions:

Bring a pot of water to a boil and pour in the bowtie pasta. Reduce heat to a simmer and allow pasta to cook through. Strain pasta and place back into same pot. Pour in the Alfredo sauce, lemon juice, chicken broth, ground pepper and garlic salt. Mix well until combined, then pour into a serving dish.

Create egg mixture and breading mixture in two separate bowls. Heat olive oil on medium high in large sauté pan. Dip and coat each chicken breast in the egg mixture and then the breading mixture. Then place chicken breasts in pan to cook-occasionally flipping each until evenly browned on each side and cooked through. Turn off heat, but keep chicken in pan.

While chicken is cooking, make the Lemon Butter Sauce by adding butter and garlic to a small sauce pan over medium heat and cooking until butter is melted and the mixture is fragrant. Then add chicken broth, lemon juice and black pepper. Cook for another 2-5 minutes, until everything has blended well. Take sauce and pour over cooked chicken that is still in the sauté pan. Allow chicken to soak up the sauce in the warm pan.

Serve lemon chicken over pasta and garish with lemon slices. Warm up the garlic rolls in the oven and prepare the salad kit. Enjoy!
