Ever since a few years ago when I started working out 4-5 days a week, I started noticing my back being way more prone to breakouts. I figured out my regular body wash wasn’t cutting it when it came to my back and all of the intense sweating I was doing almost daily. It took a long time for me to find out the best product combination and routine, but I finally figured it out and in case you deal with the same issue, I want to share with you how I treat and prevent back breakouts.
Breakouts are annoying and if you’re like me and have sensitive skin, it’s never easy figuring out how to treat them. I also have skin that blemishes really easily too, so part of the treatment I’ve discovered for my back breakouts is preventing and treating any residual marks from the breakouts.
How I Treat and Prevent Back Breakouts
First up is what I wash my back with. I switch between an exfoliating salicylic acid soap bar and a non-scented pure-castile soap.

Once out of the shower and dried off, I switch between using two pads: the anti blemish pads and the brightening pads all over my back. There are products I’d never ever use on my face, because they’re both too intense and the Noxzema ones have alcohol in them, but since my back produces way more oil than my face, I welcome the intensity.

Once that’s dried, I use the pfb chromabright on any blemish. This product is really amazing for brightening any skin discoloration. If you are consistent with it, you should see a difference within a few days.

Lastly, and again once the previous product is dried, I spray either this Paula’s Choice acne body spray or Pacifica Beauty Bacne Warrior Acne Fighting Spray on my back. If I’ve been in the sun, my skin is dry or irritated for any reason, I choose the Pacifica spray because of it’s soothing cucumber properties. But I do think the Paula’s Choice spray is stronger and better for any active breakouts-it’s another product that has really impressed me.

So I know it’s quite the routine, but it is what it is! The same way I don’t have the luxury of washing my hair once a week like I know a lot of people do, because I workout and sweat so much daily and if I washed my hair that little I would always get breakouts on my face. I’d rather have to spend an extra 3-5 minutes doing this routine and just knowing what will keep my skin clear than still not knowing what the heck to do about it.
