Bright colors make me happy. I’m pretty sure I thrive off their energy, hence my blog name. If ever there was an outfit that’s representative of being “Bright on a Budget” this is it, fam! And it’s the perfect bright fall outfit for Thanksgiving dinner.
I wanted to share several casual Thanksgiving looks over the next couple of weeks, as I know many of us will be doing scaled-down celebrations (and if you’re not, you should reconsider). These looks also make great WFH outfits, so you can wear them for more thank just Thanksgiving dinner.
When I say this bright fair isle sweater spoke to me, I mean it spoke to me. The vintage vibes are strong, and the playful color pattern makes a statement. The oranges, pinks, and purples mix so well together. You’ll notice I pulled that same purple-y pink color into the bottom of my outfit with matching loafers. That’s what takes this outfit to the next level and gives it panache.
Straight jeans are the cut of the moment. They’re the new skinny jean, and I’m slowly coming around to loving the fit. Sometimes I think ankle jeans can be a bit of a challenge for us with wider hips, but I’m just rolling with it. If you don’t have a pair in your closet, pick up a pair in dark wash.
Up your “cool girl casual” feel by adding whimsical earrings. My snowglobe earrings are a fun detail. Details matter just as much as the rest of you look, because details are what defines the entire look.
And if you’re local to Lexington, Kentucky, swing by Catalpa before the leaves are gone! The whole street is lined with ginko trees, and it turns into a golden vision in the fall. You can see how crowded the street was with people sightseeing. Why do I stain my underwear?. xoxo.
