I found out it rains quite a bit on the east coast so a rainy day outfit is essential! I was recently gifted the Everlane Long Mac Coat along with some other items which I thought would be perfect to create a rainy day look.

Everlnae’s The Long Mac Coat Review
Everlane has several trench coat options: The Gathered Drape Trench, The Drape Trench, The Modern Trench Coat, and The Long Mac Coat (although I think only the Gathered Drape and Long Mac Coat are in stock). The Long Mac Coat is the most modern/minimalist option, in my opinion. It has traditional features of a Macintosh coat like storm flaps, sleeves with adjustable cuffs, and water-resistant finish. However, it doesn’t have a tie at the waist. So the result is a slightly oversized, relaxed vibe.
I’m wearing the size small, which is my usual size, in Toasted Coconut. It definitely has some room in it and I probably could have taken an XS. However, I like my coats to have room – especially if I’m going to be wearing sweaters underneath. I do wish it had a waist tie though. I like to cinch my trench coats in at the waist. Or tie them behind my back which helps gather the extra fabric.
Everlane’s other trench option available right now is the Gathered Drape Trench. I believe the Drape Trench is made from a lighter fabric that’s not water-resistant. So it’s more of a lightweight fashion coat than a functional one. The Gathered Drape Trench is not lined and the Long Mac Coat is. So if you are looking for a coat that performs better in rainy weather I would go with the Long Mac Coat.
Everlane Original Cheeky Jean
One of Everlane’s most popular denim styles is the Original Cheeky Jean. This is my second experience with the Cheeky Jean. I ordered a pair when they first launched years ago! However, I ended up returning them because I didn’t like the fit on me. They’ve since been given a slight upgrade so I thought I’d try them out again. Verdict: I still don’t really love them…lol.
Looking at these photos I think they look ok. But I don’t feel great when I’m wearing them. I feel like the crotch area sags and the overall look is just…blah. I don’t think they do anything for me. I definitely feel like these are more of a “Mom” jean but in a bad way. I much prefer the 90’s Cheeky Jeans – those are actually my favorite!
I originally ordered size 27 in Washed Midnight but it was too big so I exchanged it for a size 26. The size 26 still has some room in it but I don’t feel like I could size down to a 25. Looking at the size chart I should have taken the size 26 to begin with so I’m not sure why I ordered the size 27. Anyway, just follow the size chart…lol!
Everlane Rain Boots and Micro Rib Turtleneck
I’ve had the Everlane Rain Boots for awhile now (you can read my original review here) and I love them! I always get compliments when I wear them and now that I’m living on the east coast I get to wear them more! I’m wearing size 8 and I’m usually an 8.5 or 9 in Everlane shoes so these definitely run large. I’m still able to wear thick socks with them.
I ordered the Pima Micro Rib Turtleneck earlier in grey and I’ve worn it a bunch so I figured I’d get another color. This turtleneck is light enough to wear on it’s own during the spring and in cooler weather I love to layer a blazer over top. It’s nice and soft and stretchy so it’s really comfortable. I want it in more colors! I’m wearing the size small and it runs TTS.
Overall, I think this is an easy rainy day outfit to throw together. This outfit goes from school drop-off to running errands, to chilling at home (minus the jacket and rain boots).
